Four young boys die after falling into a sinkhole in South Africa

 


Four families are devastated after a group of young boys fell into a hole and died in Nyanga, Cape Town, South Africa. 

 

Preliminary investigations revealed that the children between the ages of 11-13 were playing on sand dunes near Borcherds Quarry along the N2 highway, which caved in on them on Monday afternoon, February 8.

 

Fraudster splashes £175k with Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez’s bank card without him noticing for five weeks

 


A convicted fraudster splashed over £175k on a bank card belonging to Riyad Mahrez before the Manchester City winger noticed he had been scammed.

 

The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed to Daily Star Sport that one Sharif Mohamed, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of fraud, with the fraud totalling £175,830.

 

Europe’s oldest person turns 117 after surviving coronavirus

 


Europe’s oldest person, French nun Sister Andre, turns 117 today, Feb 11, after surviving COVID-19 last month and living through two world wars.

 

Born Lucile Randon on February 11, 1904, Sister Andre said she didn’t realise she had caught the coronavirus, which infected 81 residents of her retirement home in the southeast city of Toulon, killing 10 of them.

The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev (Dr) Paulinus Ezeokafor, has lamented the high cost of burial in some parts of Igboland. 

 

Bishop Ezeokafor, who disclosed to a journalist and life coach, Timothy Ofoegbu, said the Umunna and Umuada make so many unnecessary demands from bereaved families.
